C Program to Find the Sum of Natural Numbers using Recursion

This is the example of c-programming. You can edit and compile code in your own way on clicking button. If you have better solution or you found any error on code, then give us suggestion.

Full Code:

Code Explanation :

The numbers 1, 2, 3... are referred to as the natural numbers. The above program takes from the user a positive integer and calculates the sum up to the number given.

When user gives input then addNumbers() function (user-defined) is called from main() function and that variable is passed to addNumbers() function from main function as a argument.

The number given by user is added to the result of addNumbers(n-1).

Then after addNumbers() function is called itself known as recursive function. n-1 is passed which is added to the result of addNumbers(n-2). This process continues until variable n is equal to 0.

When n is equal to 0, recursive call will be stop. It eventually returns the number of integers to the main() function.
